Create with me
An inside look at the creative process
Commissioning a piece is a collaborative journey. I work closely with each client to understand the essence of what you’re drawn to - whether thats a place, a feeling, a memory or a moment. This process isn’t just about creating something new. It’s about uncovering what you want to capture and giving it form.
No two commissions are the same, because no two stories are the same.
How it works
1. Initial Inquiry
Contact me with your interest in a commissioned piece. Share any ideas and details you already know—size, subject, colors, or the space where the artwork will go. If you don't have those details yet, we can work together to figure that out.
2. Creative Consultation & Visioning
I will meet with you (in person or virtually) to understand your vision, review inspiration images, and clarify the mood, style, and emotional direction you’re seeking. I feel its important to grasp the purpose and intention for the work so that I can focus on that during the creation of the piece.
3. Project Proposal
You will receive a concept proposal outlining the artwork’s specifications, timeline, pricing, and terms. This ensures full clarity before the creative process begins. Sketches and concept boards can be provided.
4. Agreement & Deposit
Once you approve the proposal, a deposit secures your commission and reserves studio time for your piece. At this time, I will let you know the approximate timeframe for the completion of the piece.
5. Creative Development
I begins creating your custom artwork. While my process is intuitive and expressive, I will share progress updates at key stages if requested.
6. Final Review
When the piece is complete, you will receive photos or schedule a viewing to approve the final artwork. Final balance is due prior to shipping.
7. Delivery, Pick-Up and Installation
Your finished piece is carefully packed and shipped, or made available for local pick-up or delivery. Installation guidance or scheduling can be provided.
